Tour Overview

Experience the enchanting winter magic of Quebec City during the festive season. Walk the cobblestone streets of Old Quebec draped in snow and Christmas lights, visit the famous German Christmas Market, and enjoy traditional French-Canadian cuisine in this UNESCO World Heritage gem.

Quebec City is North America's only walled city north of Mexico — in winter, it transforms into a genuine fairy-tale setting. Horse-drawn calèches, twinkling lights, steaming bowls of pea soup, and the iconic silhouette of Château Frontenac dusted with snow — this is a Christmas experience unlike anywhere else in Canada.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrive Quebec City, Old Town Walking Tour

Transfer by comfortable coach from Montreal to Quebec City (approx. 2.5 hours). Check in to your boutique hotel in the heart of the Old City. Your guide leads an evening walking tour of Old Quebec — the only fortified city in North America north of Mexico. Walk the ramparts, admire the illuminated Château Frontenac reflected in the snow, and take in the magical Christmas atmosphere of Place Royale and Petit-Champlain — North America's oldest commercial street.

Day 2 — Château Frontenac, Christmas Market & Ice Skating

Morning guided tour of the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac — the world's most photographed hotel and an absolute symbol of Quebec City. Afternoon at the famous German Christmas Market on Place d'Armes — browse stalls of handmade crafts, taste mulled wine (vin chaud), and find unique festive gifts. Late afternoon ice skating on the outdoor rink in front of the Château, with the city's most breathtaking backdrop.

Day 3 — Montmorency Falls (Frozen) & Local Cuisine Tour

Morning excursion to Montmorency Falls — at 83 metres, they are 30 metres higher than Niagara Falls. In winter, the spray freezes into a spectacular natural "sugarloaf" ice cone at the base, which adventurous visitors can climb. Walk the suspension bridge above the falls for vertiginous views. Afternoon culinary tour of Quebec City: sample tourtière (meat pie), sugar pie, maple taffy, poutine, and local cheeses with a food expert guide.

Day 4 — Departure

Morning at leisure in Quebec City — perhaps a final stroll through the winding streets of Lower Town, a last cup of café au lait in a cosy bistro, or shopping for maple syrup products and local crafts to bring home.
