Entry Requirements for Canada

Everything you need to know before crossing the Canadian border.

Passport Requirements

All foreign nationals entering Canada must carry a valid passport. Your passport should be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Canada.

Tip: We recommend your passport be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Canada to avoid any complications.

  • US citizens can enter with a passport, passport card, or NEXUS card (land/sea crossings).
  • Children must have their own travel documents.
  • Emergency/temporary passports are generally accepted but may require additional documentation.
